Air Conditioner Maintenance Tips

Clean/Replace Your Filters:

Open the Unit: Lift the front panel of the indoor unit.
Remove the Filter: Grip the tab on the end of the filter, push it up slightly, then pull it towards yourself. Pull down to extract the filter(s) behind the front panel.
Detach Air Freshening Filter (if applicable): Unclip the small air freshening filter from the larger filter.
Clean the Air Freshening Filter: Use a hand-held vacuum to remove dust and debris.
Wash the Main Filter: Clean the large air filter with warm, soapy water (mild dish soap works best).
Rinse and Dry: Rinse the back of the filter with fresh water, shake off excess water, and dry in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Reassemble: Once dry, re-clip the air freshening filter to the larger filter.
Reinstall the Filter: Slide the filter back into the indoor unit.
Close the Panel: Secure the front panel of the indoor unit.

Check for Debris: Remove dirt, leaves, and branches that may reduce efficiency.
Maintain Clearance: Keep plants at a distance to prevent airflow blockage.

Mike came to discuss repairs versus replacement. The reason that so many people have given Able Air a 5 star rating was underscored for me when Mike said, "in good conscience I can't charge for servicing a unit that will be replaced." Crediting a service call on my old A/C might be minor compared to replacement costs, but sometimes small things go a long way to instill confidence in the varsity of a company and its owner. So also can those a company employs and Able Air has chosen it's staff well. The service tech, André, and the installation team of Martin and Steve were knowledgable, efficient, timely and personable. The office staff kept me well appraised of appointment times and payment options were seamless. The cost of the new unit was comparable if not better than the competition. After getting 3 other quotes, I met Cyrus the owner. He was very professional and down to earth to answer questions honestly. He stood behind his word and his workmanship. He came to our home twice to ensure that we were 💯% confident in our decision for both AC and furnace installation.
He arranged for the duct cleaning at a lower cost to ensure everything was clean before new equipment install.
The crew (Waheed,Frank, Winston) came on time and were very professional and polite. They ensured that no dirt was dragged in from the outside by protecting our carpets.
